Sgt. 1st Class Christian Araza, in his childhood, stands with his extended family and his grandmother, Julie Flores, near Subic Bay, Philippines. Araza was raised in the Philippines from birth until the age of sixteen and was able to visit his family for the first time in seven years during his employment in the Indo-Pacific.
