June 14, 2025 marks the 250th birthday of the United States Army. A history that began when the dream of a new nation was still fragile and uncertain. The Army's resilience, demonstrated from the Revolutionary War to the present, continues to inspire us all.
This celebration is not just for veterans and Army Soldiers who have served and continue to serve; it is a time for all Americans to come together and recognize the crucial role the Army has played in our nation’s past and present.
Families, communities, and organizations nationwide will join us in honoring the Army's dedication to safeguarding the freedoms we enjoy every day.
During the Army's 250-year history, we’ve been involved in the Pacific for over 127 years. Starting with the Spanish-American War in 1898.
The Army's role in the Pacific Theater during World War II was one of the most defining moments in the Pacific. The Army was strategically important in providing credible land forces in the Pacific, as seen in battles on Guadalcanal, the Philippines, Okinawa, and numerous other locations throughout the Pacific.
Our continued presence in the Indo-Pacific provides security and stability to allies and partners and contributes to a free and open Indo-Pacific. We demonstrate peace through strength daily as the world’s most lethal army.
The Army continues to evolve in the Indo-Pacific and adapt to the region's complex security environment and challenges.
The Army's ability to adapt and contribute to the National Defense Strategy and Indo-Pacific strategic objectives is central to shaping U.S. military power in the region. The Indo-Pacific remains a priority theater, and our unity of effort with the other services in the Indo-Pacific makes us a lethal fighting force.
The Army is adapting to the ever-changing landscape of modern warfare, from cutting-edge cyber capabilities to advancements in artificial intelligence, drones, and autonomous systems. We are the most lethal Army in the Indo-Pacific.
As we commemorate this historic journey, let us celebrate the men and women who have served and will continue to serve, as well as the Army's vital role in protecting the freedoms we hold dear. Here's to the next 250 years of service to our nation.
