Yudh Abhyas 22 Opens in the Himalayas
November 19, 2022 — Yudh Abhyas 22 kicked off its 20th year, held for the first time in the Himalayan mountains, with participants from both the 9th Assam Regiment, Indian Army, and Denali Squadron - 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, under the command of 2nd Brigade, 11th Airborne Division of the US Army, standing in formation at the opening ceremony. Soldiers from 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment form up for the opening ceremony of exercise Yudh Abhyas 22, an annual bilateral exercise held between the US and India. This year, the 9th Assam Regiment of the Indian Army is hosting 1-40th in the Himalayas for extreme high altitude training. Yudh Abhyas 22 is a bilateral training exercise aimed at improving the combined interoperability of the Indian army and 11th Airborne Division to increase partner capacity for conventional, complex and future contingencies throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

Sgt. 1st Class Austin Coffed, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division briefs partnered activities to Command Sgt. Maj. Will Langes at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Nov. 4, 2022 during Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center Rotation 23-01.

JPMRC 23-01 was an immersive training event spanning multiple islands in Hawaii and assessing the readiness of elements of 25th Infantry Division and Allies and Partners. The rotation allows these elements to assess readiness in Hawaii instead of the National Training Center in California or the Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana, saving thousands of dollars in defense funding while maintaining a realistic Pacific-focused training environment.

35th CSSB Soldiers battle it out, build camaraderie in unit’s ‘Best Warrior’ competition
October 25, 2022 — CAMP ZAMA, Japan – Four “Samurai” warriors, assigned to the 35th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion here, competed in the unit’s second annual “Best Warrior” competition Oct. 13 and 14 on Camp Zama and Sagami General Depot. Exercise Cartwheel 2022 - In the Beginning...
September 20, 2022 — BLACK ROCK CAMP, Nadi, Fiji - U.S. Army Cpt. Kara Dreflak-Utley (Chaplain), 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, and Maj. Jono Holland (Chaplain), JP, Ph.D., Lead Chaplain of the Central Region –Linton DHD New Zealand Defense Force NZDF Chaplaincy, with the assistance of Staff Sgt. Maria L. Baez, 25th Infantry Division, Artillery, Brigade, Religious Affairs Specialist, came with training programs to help develop the Fijian Republic of Military Forces (RFMF) doctrine, September 11-20, 2022. The chaplains also wanted to learn and create relationships with each nation involved in the Multilateral Training during Exercise Cartwheel 2022. They said it is really about building relationships and sharing best practices. Village Tunidau, Force Chaplain for the RFMF, known affectionately as Padre Bill, holds the only chaplain position in the RFMF. Padre Bill oversees the chaplaincy program with a few riflemen within the Fijian Army and Fijian Navy; they have the additional duty of unit Chaplin with little doctrine... MORE

Exercise Cartwheel is a multilateral military-to-military training exercise with the United States, Republic of Fiji Military, Australian, New Zealand, and British forces that builds expeditionary readiness and interoperability by increasing the capacity to face a crisis and contingencies by developing and stressing units at the highest training levels.
