Why 11th Airborne Division?

The official insignia for the 11th Airborne Division. The Army will re-designate U.S. Army Alaska and two Alaska-based brigade combat teams this summer as the 11th Airborne Division Headquarters and the 1st and 2nd Brigade Combat Teams, 11th Airborne Division. This re-designation is an outgrowth of the Army’s January 2021 Arctic Strategy and sets us on the path towards a force that is more appropriately manned, trained, and equipped for the Arctic environment.

Theater Army employs APS Afloat for first time in Indo-Pacific

The last piece of equipment from Army Prepositioned Stock Afloas is driven off the U.S. Naval Ship Red Cloud. The downloaded equipment will be issued to Soldiers in participating in Salaknib 22. The employment of Army Prepositioned Stocks afloat builds the Army’s strategic readiness capabilities and demonstrates its ability to rapidly project power in the Indo-Pacific Theater during competition as well as during crisis and conflict.
