U.S., Malaysian Forces Execute Force-on-Force Training
204th Public Affairs Detachment
July 22, 2026 | 0:40
Soldiers from the Guam Army National Guard, Oklahoma Army National Guard, and Malaysian Army’s 5th Infantry Division conduct a force-on-force training event during Exercise Keris Strike 26 near Kota Belud, Sabah, Malaysia, July 22, 2026. Also known as tactical engagement simulations, force-on-force exercises use laser transmitters (like MILES) and blank ammunition to simulate direct-fire engagements in a field environment. Keris Strike is a long-standing and evolving military exercise designed to enhance interoperability and strengthen security partnerships among American, Australian and Malaysian military forces across the Indo-Pacific region. (Video reel by U.S. Army Spc. Williance Jean, 204th PAD)
