Exercise Yama Sakura 63 (YS63) will be conducted at Camp Sendai, Japan. This annual command post exercise is co-hosted by U.S. Army Pacific and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Participants include soldiers from United States Army Pacific, I Corps, and the 25th Infantry Division, and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members from the North East Army. Mission Command Training Centers (MCTCs) in Korea and Fort Lewis, Washington will also be used during this exercise. |
Since its inception in 1982, Yama Sakura has focused on the development and refinement of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Force’s efforts in the areas of bilateral planning, coordination, and interoperability.
Yama Sakura underscores a continued commitment by the United States and Japan to work as dedicated partners in support of the U.S.-Japan security alliance and for peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
