"No change in state of USARPAC, USARPAC Commander explains
Kanagawa Shimbun: LTG Francis Wiercinski, commander of U.S. Army Pacific, gave exclusive interview to Kanagawa Shimbun Company in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, where Japan-US bilateral regional army command post exercise "Yama Sakura" training is held on January 30 and said that he does not think there will be a change in the state of USARPAC as Asia Pacific Region is the most important region in terms of reduction of national defense expenditure of US Forces.

Japan-U.S. Bilateral CPX begins, JGSDF expresses gratitude for support
Kyodo News Service: The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, U.S. Army and other units conduct Japan-U.S. bilateral command post exercise "Yama Sakura", and the opening ceremony was held at the Headquarters of Middle Army, in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture on Jan. 30. LTG Wiercinski (55), commander of U.S. Army Pacific made remarks, "We should be all ready to be able to respond in case something happens."
