Maj. Gen. Benjamin R. Mixon Relinquishes Command of the 25th Infantry Division

The generals stand in a HMMWV while conducting a pass and review of the Soldiers standing on the parade field. Mixon’s relinquishment of command was held on Sills Field, Jan. 30. The Soldiers standing on the field represented the entire division with the exception of 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team who is currently deployed to Iraq.

A pass and review is conducted by the host, outgoing and incoming commanders during Mixon’s relinquishment off command on Sills Field, Jan. 30. The Soldiers standing in formation represented the entire division with the exception of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team who is currently deployed to Iraq.

As the generals complete their pass and review the hummvee prepares to turn back to the podium where they will speak about Mixon’s accomplishments while in command over the last two-and-a-half years. Mixon and Bednarek also emphasized the Soldiers and their families are the true heart of this division. The relinquishment of command was held on Sills Field, Jan. 30.

 Soldiers to the right of the parade field fired a canon salute rendering honors to Generals who attended the relinquishment of command for Maj. Gen. Benjamin Mixon, commander, 25th ID. Brig. Gen. Mick Bednarek will be taking command for an interim period until the division acquires a new commander. The ceremony was held on Sills Field, Jan. 30.
