Fort Shafter: A Short History


Introduction

Aloha!  Fort Shafter is perhaps one of the most beautiful military installations in the world, and reflects the pride and spirit of the Soldiers and Civilians of Today’s Army. As the oldest Army installation in Hawaii, Fort Shafter is very rich in military history.

USARPAC MISSION

USARPAC conducts operations to assure, enhance, sustain, and influence military relationships that build partner defense capacity; prepare the force for unified land operations; respond to threats; sustain and protect the force; to shape and posture for a stable and secure U.S. Pacific Command area of responsibility.
