 MISSION BRIEF    SECTIONS
Garuda Shield is a regularly-scheduled, bilateral exercise sponsored by U.S. Army, Pacific and hosted annually by the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI – Indonesian Armed Forces). GS 12 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This marks the sixth iteration of this bilateral exercise.

Training will focus on peace support operations, a bilateral U.N. Force HQs computer-simulated command post exercise, a field training exercise and a humanitarian and civic assistance project.

The FTX will consist of lane training in Counter Improvised Explosive Device operations (CIED). "Lane Training" will include checkpoint operations, patrolling, securing a distribution site, patrolling and convoy operations.
