 MISSION BRIEF    SECTIONS
Garuda Shield is an annual bilateral exercise sponsored by U.S. Army, Pacific and hosted by the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI - Indonesian Armed Forces). GS 11 is the latest in a continuing series of rigorous, multi-faceted exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This exercise marks the fifth anniversary of a significant and highly productive regional training event.

Training will focus on peace support operations. Major exercise activity includes (1) a command post exercise, (2) a field training exercise and (3) a humanitarian civic assistance project.

The CPX will consist of in-depth PSO academics and productive team-building and staff processes required to resolve complex security situations. The FTX will consist of focused academics and practical small unit training designed to counter countering Improvised Explosives Devices. The HCA project will consist of an intense engineering effort to build a large, modern community services building and public market in a rural district.
