Bilateral Army Exercise is a regularly-scheduled, bilateral exercise designed to improve humanitarian assistance/ disaster relief capabilities, enhance bilateral Infantry, Aviation, Medical, Engineer, and Battle Staff capabilities, enhance military-to-military relationships and mission readiness, and improve the quality of life in rural communities.

The exercise will consist of staff training to improve planning and execution capacity for disaster response, search and rescue, and humanitarian assistance missions in response to natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods. Tactical training will consist of small unit infantry tactics, counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) training, and Combat Life-Saver training designed to improve readiness and save lives.

All training will be challenging and conducted under realistic conditions. US and Thai troops will both benefit from exercise activity and also enhance professional and personal relationships. U.S. and Thai forces will also execute humanitarian assistance and engineering projects designed to improve the quality of life in underserved rural areas by building a District Community Center & Library to support 11,000 citizens and a three classroom Kindergarten for over 150 students.
