He entered the Army at age 18 on October 1st 1993 and attended Basic Training and AIT at Fort Benning, Georgia. 1SG Danner’s previous assignments include A co 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii as the Company First Sergeant, C co 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia as the Company First Sergeant, A co 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia as the Senior Instructor/Writer, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, HHC, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment Fort Lewis, Washington, the first SBCT to deploy to Afghanistan as the Assistant Operations Sergeant, C co Platoon Sergeant and the S-2 NCOIC, D co. 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia where he served as a Drill Sergeant, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment Fort Benning, Georgia as the Battalion Operations Sergeant and Drill Sergeant candidate, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment Schofield Barracks, Hawaii as an Infantry Squad Leader, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment Fort Campbell, Kentucky as an Infantry Team Leader, and the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment Schofield Barracks, Hawaii as an Infantryman.
