  8th FST welcomed to 18th MEDCOMS (DS)

Mongolian Armed Forces subject matter expert exchange

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - In support of the United States Army Pacific Theater Security Cooperation Program, 18th Medical Deployment Support Command conducted the first nursing subject matter expert exchange (SMEE) with the Mongolian armed forces in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia April 12-16, 2010.

Thailand - 18th Medical Deployment Support Command civil affairs and force health protection personnel participated in exercise Cobra Gold 2010 Medical Civilian Assistance Project (MEDCAP) in the country of Thailand Feb. 1-11.  
Army MEDCOM Competition comes to Hawaii

Fort Shafter, HI
– Primed from numerous NCO and Soldier competitions earlier in the year, twenty of the Army Medical Command’s best of the best looked forward to claiming the title of “Best Warrior” for 2010 in a competition held on Oahu in March.
18th MEDCOM (DS) Conducts LTX

Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, HI — Halfway through a tough and demanding lane training exercise, Soldiers from the 18th Medical Deployment Support Command paused to officially assign a new optometry team here Feb. 3-6.
 
18th MEDCOM (DS) Receives High Frequency Radio Training

Soldiers from the 18th Medical Deployment Support Command received training on the Harris portable radio configuration or PRC 150 high frequency radio from Harris Communications Cooperation personnel during a basic operator’s course and an advanced communicator’s course at Schofield barracks 18-29 Jan.
18th MEDCOM (DS) Receives Korean Language Training

Fort Shafter, Hawaii (January 15, 2010) - 18th Medical Deployment Support Command Soldiers participated in a four-day Korean language training class instructed by staff from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language School and Presidio of Monterey, California at the religious activities center here on Fort Shafter 11-14 Jan.
Red Tails Visit the 18th MEDCOM (DS)

That was the case for 18th Medical Deployment Support Command Soldiers as two Tuskegee Airmen, formerly known as the “Red Tails”, re-lived some moments in their military careers during the unit’s observance of African American/Black History month at the Aliamanu Military Reservation Chapel 22 Feb.
Change of Command 18th MEDCOM (DS) Change of Command

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii - The 18th Medical Command (DS) held its first change of command ceremony here on historic Palm Circle, Sept. 10. Col. Erin P. Edgar assumed command of the unit from outgoing commander Lt. Col. Chadwick A. Bowers who will transfer to Tripler Army Medical Center to be the assistant chief of logistics.
Exercise 18th MEDCOM (DS) Executes First Training Exercise

BELLOWS AIR FORCE STATION, Hawaii - (June 25, 2009) A team of Soldiers lift a casualty on a stretcher and run toward a helicopter waiting to fly them out of an urban battle zone to safety.

This is the final scenario of the 18th Medical Command's first full warrior task training exercise since the unit's activation in November 2008.
Activation Ceremony 18th MEDCOM (DS) Activates on Fort Shafter

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii -- United States Army, Pacific welcomed a new member to its ever-growing family.

The 18th Medical Deployment Support Command unfurled its colors in an activation ceremony held on historic Palm Circle Nov. 25.

MISSION

Mission Command of assigned and attached medical units to provide comprehensive and flexible Army Health System Support (AHSS) throughout the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) and across the full spectrum of operations.
